The 2017 Hitting 4 the Cycle benefit bike ride is operated by Brewers Community Foundation. Brewers Community Foundation is the non-profit, charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers. We harness the pride, passion, and commitment of Brewers fans, players, and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in Greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Annually, Brewers Community Foundation supports more than 200 local non-profit organizations that provide quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation, and basic needs.
Beyond Brewers Community Foundation, proceeds from Hitting 4 the Cycle will benefit Urban Ecology Center and DreamBikes.
Urban Ecology Center: Urban Ecology Center fosters ecological understandings as inspiration for change, neighborhood by neighborhood. These Environmental Community Centers provide outdoor science education for urban youth, protect and use public natural areas, making them safe, accessible and vibrant, preserve and enhance these natural areas and their surrounding waters, promote community by offering resources that support learning, volunteerism, stewardship, recreation and camaraderie, need practice and model environmentally responsible behaviors. For more information, visit their website at www.urbanecologycenter.org.
Dream Bikes: DreamBikes strategically places used bicycle stores in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods to provide hands-on, paid job training to teens. Working in conjunction with local youth organizations, DreamBikes employs teens from the area to work in the store; teaching them how to refurbish bicycles, use the POS software, and to deliver great customer service. DreamBikes provides lifelong skills to our teen employees, helping them to shift gears and find a bright future. For more information, visit their website at www.dream-bikes.org.
